“Shifting Ambiance” explores the way sounds in an environment evolves through time. Even between the couple weeks of recording the audio and then playing it again on the same path, the space had transformed. The audio consists of different sounds within the space, layered and transitioning from quiet footsteps to an overwhelming, leaf blower, geese, and cars driving by, then back to the gentle crunch of the leaves. The goal is to shift the ambient sounds around us to rise to the foreground of our attention.
